How to Kick the Boredom Habit by Entering the Breakthrough Zone

Doors of Perception

Have you ever had that ‘stuck in a rut’ feeling?

Every morning it a bit like . You wake up and know it’s just going to be the same old routine.

Or perhaps it’s a pattern that keeps repeating in your life; the toxic relationship, the bullying boss, or the job that didn’t work out, and it’s like, ‘I’ve been in this movie before.’

As famous American professional baseball manager and coach, Yogi Berra, famously said ‘ like déjà vu all over again.’

Boring right?

Or perhaps you did try to make changes and failed; the new job, the promotion, moving on to a new relationship, moving house, taking control of your health, your eating, your life?

You’ve tried all the positive thinking, SMART goals and vision boards but it doesn’t last, and you beat yourself up and tick the box for another ‘fail.’ You’ve worn your knuckles out knocking on doors and finally given up. The universe is simply not on your side.

Sometimes life really can feel like you’re trying to eat soup with a fork. Okay, it’s a good idea not to rush or you could make mistakes you regret later?

The old advice is festina lente or make haste slowly, and everyone knows you can’t get to the top of the mountain in one leap.

But…

Come on, if every new chapter of your book is the same as the last, it’s because the writer hasn’t changed. So, here’s the news;

You are the author of your life; the pen is in your hand. Every day is a clean sheet and a blank page and you have more power than you think about how the story of your future life will read .

Breakthrough

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, a breakthrough is ‘a sudden, dramatic, and important discovery or development.’

Perhaps you just need a bit of help to make your personal breakthrough?

It might be time to reach out. Even a top hairdresser can’t give themselves a great haircut

It’s complete madness is to keep on doing what you’ve always done and expect something to change. So, try this;

Cross your arms as you usually do. Now cross them in the opposite way. Feels weird, yes?

You just entered ‘Discomfort Land’; that area just the edge of your personal landscape, where change can happen and insights occur.

Welcome to the Breakthrough Zone.
